Globe Hackers: Networks of solutions-oriented people and organizations solving the critical problems of our time.
A great team develops from an active, always-evolving group of committed individuals sharing a common vision.
Steven Cleghorn, founder of Globe Hackers Multimedia and COSPOLON.
I'm an autodidact with an education (my mind has been washed, rinsed, and programmed; I’m trying to fix it), skeptic, raconteur, and a former producer at The Muse Films Ltd. in Hong Kong. I founded Globe Hackers Multimedia Ltd. in 2014 to produce content that might help social entrepreneurs, inventors, activists, and like-minded people committed to advocating for healthy ecosystems we all depend on.
I aim to develop a network of solutions-oriented people who can help find resources for endeavors that promote respect and understanding of the living systems that gave our species a chance to do amazing things. If we don't know what we depend on, our arrogant, inventive, resourceful, fire-ape species will not inhabit Earth much longer.
I've been traveling since I was a zygote (a cheeky way of saying since I was still in my mother's womb).
I grew up in two countries and have lived in seven. I'm lucky to have had a loving, funny mother in the travel business before smartphones and Airbnbs. I appreciate having experienced various cultures before "The Great Homogenization" via neocolonial neoliberalism and all the other noise without love or meaning.
I listen to nature; therefore, I am—my existence is part and parcel.
I am constantly learning about our circumstances and how they arose. I hope enough of us wake up and focus on celebrating health and flourishing in living systems. Our relationships with living systems are more important to our well-being than stuff.
“We argue to discover, knowing we can’t injure ourselves.”
I enjoy learning from people who don't argue with reality but still have the presence of mind to have their heads in the clouds.
It is what it is, was what it was, and shall be what it shall be by having been, and yet I feel my random, determined, stochastically stumbling acts still matter. That's a scary thought. Life is a movement and a rest.
The hero I envision is a humorous, friendly traveler, craftsman, family man, and storyteller who helps during the harvest, participates in village projects, sings and dances at festivals, consoles the grieving, eventually becomes a wise village elder, and dies peacefully with friends and family nearby. It doesn't get any better than that.
I admire people working to expand our circle of compassion and understanding of living systems, and toward an expanding ecology of empathy, relational ontology, and epistemic integrity.
COSPOLON is a full-time, life-long vocation.
Don't hesitate to get in touch.
